Read what some graduates have to say about their school experiences.
Letter from Lexie, daughter of a Moses Lake physician, and Moses Lake High School graduate
High school graduation is a time when many students look back upon the last twelve years of their lives that they have spent in school and wonder, "How have I gotten to this point?" I can remember having that thought in my mind as I was sitting in the auditorium of my high school graduation two years ago, and vividly realizing how lucky I was to have had such a wonderful educational experience here in Moses Lake. Although at first glance smaller towns such as Moses Lake may seem to not provide the best atmosphere for educational development and support, I have found my experience in Moses Lake schools to be just the opposite. I have always had stimulating teachers, wonderful extracurricular opportunities, supportive administrators, and a personal, welcoming and fun atmosphere in which to learn.
Furthermore, I have been able to see the Moses Lake School District from two very different angles. As the sister of a wonderful young woman with Down syndrome, I have witnessed how much effort the many teachers, aids, administrators, and other students have taken to ensure a supportive, individualized and effective educational experience for a mentally handicapped individual. On the flip side of that experience, I personally have been able to take advantage of a multitude of enriching and stimulating extracurricular experiences that have ultimately shaped my attitude as a learner, and have helped me to reach my dream of attending Yale University, where I am currently a sophomore majoring in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology.
I was able to participate in NOVA programs in elementary school for intellectual stimulation, to go to writing conferences at Big Bend Community College in 2nd and 6th grade, to be part of the Washington State Science Olympiad champion team all three years of middle school and to participate in the national competitions, and then to participate in high school activities such as math team, knowledge bowl, science bowl, honor society, key club, and so forth, all while also being offered numerous honors and AP classes. Basically, throughout my educational experience in Moses Lake, I have always been challenged and have been given the tools to succeed.
But most importantly, I have truly enjoyed my schooling in Moses Lake, and have been instilled with a love of learning that will never leave me. I have had wonderful teachers that have been invested in my success, and have made learning fun and interactive. I continue to go back and visit many of these teachers when I am in town, and I owe them much gratitude for the great influence they have given to my character as a student and as a person.
I hope that your children will also be able to benefit from the wonderful opportunities and educators of Moses Lake that I have been so blessed to experience. Good luck!
Sincerely, Lexie

Read a letter from Anne, daughter of a Wenatchee physician, and Wenatchee High School graduate.
Like most high school students, I couldn’t wait to get out of Wenatchee High School and experience the broader world. By the time senior year rolled around, I was “so done” with high school. I think every graduating senior feels the same. What we didn’t realize then was how lucky we were to be feeling that way, ready for our next challenge. Wenatchee High School, while limited i
