WVH - Billing and Admitting

What can I expect once my hospital visit is scheduled?
After you have been scheduled at the hospital and prior to your hospital stay, you will be contacted by telephone to be pre-registered. You will be asked to verify personal information such as your full name, birth date, address, social security number and insurance billing information. Also, questions required by State and Federal Hospital regulations will be asked. This will take a few minutes of your time but it will help ensure that your admission and billing process are smooth. Please be aware that even though the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center may have your information on file, the hospital admission is a separate process and additional information may be required. We appreciate your time and cooperation.

If you are having surgery, a Surgery Department nurse will contact you a day or so prior to your surgery with pre-surgery instructions and directions to the facility. This phone call will be in addition to your pre-registration call.

What do I need to do prior to my hospital visit?
To prepare for your hospital stay, we recommend that you contact your insurance company to help you better understand your coverage. Ask them if your service needs prior authorization. Also, it is good to request an update on your current co-pay, coinsurance and/or deductible as well as any other amounts that may be your financial responsibility.

On the day of your hospital visit, please bring your current insurance card(s) with you. Your insurance co-payment or deductible is due upon admission to the hospital and may be given to the receptionist. For your convenience, we accept cash, check and credit cards (MasterCard and Visa). If you have a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care, Living Will and/or Advance Directives for Health Care, please bring a copy to be included in your Hospital medical record file.

Will Wenatchee Valley Hospital bill my insurance?
If you have provided us with your insurance information upon pre-admission or admission, we will bill your insurance company(s) once all of the hospital charges have been posted to your account. If there is a remaining balance after the insurance(s) has paid, you will receive a statement for that portion.

What do I do if I can't pay the balance in full when I receive my bill?
If you are unable to pay your bill in full, we will work with you to arrange a payment plan to assist you in paying off your account balance. There are State Medicaid programs available for those that qualify. Please contact your local agency to inquire and complete an application. Wenatchee Valley Hospital offers a Compassionate Care program based on income guidelines, if you have been denied for State assistance. Please direct your inquiries to the Hospital Business Office at (509) 665-5850.

How many different bills should I expect to receive?
1. You may expect to receive a bill from Wenatchee Valley Hospital, for any portion not
paid by your insurance company, for your hospital stay or surgical facility.

2. You will receive a separate bill from your physician or surgeon.

3. If you have anesthesia services, you will receive a bill from your anesthesiologist.
